Researchers at Harvard University have demonstrated that students receiving private school scholarships progress by more than a full grade level in reading and math over their peers in public schools after only one year. Even greater gains are evidenced in subsequent years.

Scholarship programs change lives. When parents sacrifice to pay part of the cost, education becomes a priority. Changes at home are often as dramatic as changes in a school.

The families we support are living in poverty and struggling more than ever but thanks to you and your generosity they have HOPE and OPPORTUNITY. They are hopeful about their children’s future because of the quality education they are receiving as a recipient of a Today and Tomorrow scholarship. They know that the opportunity to choose a parochial or private elementary school increases their child’s chance to succeed in life regardless of racial, ethnic, religious or educational background. 93% of recipients are accepted into college preparatory high schools, 84% attended college preparatory high schools, 100% graduate from high school and, of those, 100% go on to post secondary education. Hope for the future of our community resides in the 3,398 scholarship students, their classmates and schools.

100% High School Graduation Rate

Introduced in the 2008-2009 school year, the Help for Today, Hope for Tomorrow Kindergarten through 4th Grade Scholarship Program seeks to provide financial assistance to St. Louis City families who wish to offer their Kindergarten through 4th grade children a private or parochial  elementary school education.  Scholarship awards are based upon the financial need and the residency of the applicant.  Scholarships awarded will follow students through the 8th grade assuming continued eligibility and are transferable to any private or parochial school in the city of St. Louis.
