Below you’ll find the most frequently asked questions we get about scholarships through Today & Tomorrow Educational Foundation.
If one of these still doesn’t address your questions, feel free to contact us and we’ll be more than happy to provide you with an answer.
In addition to administering our own scholarships (Help for Today, Hope for Tomorrow & Alive! In Christ), TTEF administers scholarships for our partners at the Office of Catholic Education (Catholic Family Tuition Assistance & Parish Employee Endowment Fund), the Department of Special Education, and the Roman Catholic Foundation (Beyond Sunday & SOAR! Scholarships). Please visit our Scholarships page for more details on each scholarship, including income guidelines.
To make the process easier for families and schools, one application is used for all scholarships under the TTEF umbrella. The Scholarship Office at TTEF will review your application and determine your family’s award(s) based on eligibility for the different programs. On our Home page, you will find the link to the online application. Step-by-step instructions on how to apply, and information on how to reach TTEF for additional support are available on our Information for Parents page. No paper applications are accepted.
Yes! We encourage families to include on their application all of their children in grades K-12 so we can help you maximize your award potential.
Each student may receive one of the following scholarships, determined by their grade, school, and income eligibility:
- Alive! In Christ
- Beyond Sunday (Elementary or Fellows)
- Help for Today, Hope for Tomorrow
- SOAR! (Jones & Taylor)
One key component of educational success is parental involvement. We consider this an effective mechanism to ensure buy-in and commitment from participating families.
Elementary school scholarships are renewable through grade eight and high school scholarships are renewable through grade twelve. Scholarships are transferable between schools. If your child(ren) are transferring to a private school from an Archdiocesan or parochial school, the award amount may be adjusted if necessary.
That will not affect your scholarship in any way. It is not uncommon that children transferring from public to private school will need “catch-up” time, or in some cases even have to repeat a grade to come up to the level of their peers.
TTEF awards and administers the various scholarship programs based upon individual program criteria. The educational program and academic requirements are handled at the local school level between the school and the scholarships recipient. TTEF scholarships are need based not merit based scholarships.
For the 2016-17 school year, Beyond Sunday and SOAR! are offering high school scholarships. All other scholarships are for elementary school students only.
No, children must be entering Kindergarten or a higher grade to be eligible for the scholarship.
Child Care Aware is a great resource for information on local child care options and financial assistance for pre-K children younger than 5 years old. For high school assistance please reach out to the individual school(s) regarding their financial aid program.
